About Me

Hello everyone,  

This is my first post and it is just a get to know me.

I am 21 years old and have lived in Northwest Indiana my whole life.  My major is Human Development and Family Studies with a concentration in Early Childhood Education.  Yes, I know it's a mouth full that's why we tend to say HDFS.  When I finish school I plan on being a preschool teacher.  I went to Lake Central High School for two years and was then homeschooled due to anxiety and depression, but I finally made it through and graduated in 2019.  School can be hard for me because of my anxiety and depression, but I try very hard to not give up.  This is also my first time back at school since quarantine, so I am still trying to figure out my schedule.

I started dancing when I was nine years old and fell in love with it.  When I dance I feel like nothing else in this world matters.  For the two to three minutes I am on stage it is like I am the only person in the world.  Dance is one of the number one things that helps me when I am feeling down.  I continue to dance today.  I am a dance teacher at Promise Dance Academy in Crown Point, Indiana as well as an assistant at my home studio with our mini dance team.  I am also a member of the PNW Dance Team.

I am anxious about this class and how I am going to balance it with my other classes, work, and dance practices.
